Halloween

Have I mentioned that I don't like Halloween much? The whole scary concept of it is a bit unsettling. It is fun though to see my babies all dressed up. They were darling. Thank heavens for pictures though, I only got to see two of them that day! Take a look at them!

We went to the school parade to see all the costumes!

My kids go to their dad's house for a Halloween party each year...
And at our house, Jon is the only one who dressed up!

Blowing leaves, glowing leaves,
Crisp as autumn weather.
Kick a few, pick a few,
stick a few together.
Make a pile, rake a pile,
takes a while to do it.
When you're done, have some fun,
running, running through it!

That is a poem from a weekly reader from when I was a little girl living in Grand Junction. It is one that my sister and I always remember at this time of year!

Cort and his girls love playing in the leaves. And throwing them at each other!
And it is back to riding the bike for Ky!

The snow melted and it is fall again! Thank heavens. Yesterday I taught Kylee to ride her bike. All by herself! She did such a great job. I only held her up twice, and then she knew what to do and did it all by herself! She had a hard time learning how to get going, but once she got going, she could ride and ride. Now she already knows how to start really well. I just had to keep reminding her to keep going, and to peddle backwards to stop. She would just put her feet down to stop herself. She is such a cutie!

We got our first snow Sunday, October 12. It was beautiful! I'm hoping you can see in these small pictures. This first picture was of the snow falling. I slowed the shutter speed so you can actually see the snow falling....

The picture below is once the snow stopped for a bit. The sun was peaking through. This is a view from the balcony off my bedroom.
And then in the back yard. I love the wintery look of it, though the leaves haven't changed yet. The white on green was so pretty! Not to mention the clouds. I didn't get any pictures of the clouds, but they were beautiful! I love storms!

Babysitting Gage

I baby sat Gage on Friday. I had slept over the night before, so I just stayed over and let Gage sleep in. He was such a darling! He loved playing and having me watch him. If I wasn't watching he would come look me right in the face and say "Hello!"

In his bedroom he couldn't reach toys inside his toy box, so I sat him inside it. He LOVED this monkey that he found!
Just before we were leaving to go to my house, (he was ready to go bye-bye) he had to wear my shoes...

At my house he went outside and played football with Grandpa.

Kylee does horse shows. She had one this past Saturday. It is fun to watch her. This show was unusually LONG. It took the entire day. She is now competing in English riding too. This first picture is her in her English costume.

Then she changed into a different costume for another part of her show.

And yet another costume.... that is her mom walking off to the left below.

Cort and Alyssa went with me. Did I mention how LONG the day was?

And then Alyssa rode in one portion. She rode the horse, Kylee led the horse and Cort held Alyssa's hand. She didn't dare ride without holding his hand. Before she rode, she wouldn't shut up about riding, but then she was afraid when she finally got to.

Kylee loves showing.

I love her chaps...

She really does a great job.

The Sunday of September 28, Dylan came to visit for his fall break. We had a lot of fun, though it was a quick visit. He got to meet his new nephew, and he did get to see all of his siblings.

We invited the kids over for dinner...

After dinner we went outside to play.

The kids LOVE my garden!!

And picking tomatoes.
Red or Green tomatoes... they don't care!

Some of the boys played football.

Daniel came over after school, it was the first time he got to see the baby. And I got a family picture while all of Dennis' kids were here. This is Dennis with his kids, and their kids.
The weekend of September 20, Dennis and I went to California to watch another of Dylan's football games. It was a warm sunny day, so it was easier getting pictures. That is always fun! We didn't get any extra time with Dylan, his mother had other plans for him, so while we were there we went to the cemetery and took flowers to Dennis' mom and grandparents. It was a much more relaxed trip this time! Below are some pictures!

He is number 77 this week!

Make A Wish!

My son is living with a girl who has a son with Arthrogryposis. It is a disease that effects the bone and body mass and it is something that babies are born with. I only know a little bit about it, but they think one cause or symptom is low fetal movement. Anyway, her son's name is Joseph. We all call him Joe Joe. Make A Wish foundation is granting him a wish. When they give a wish they also have a party for the person who is getting the wish granted. Tuesday night was Joe Joe's party. All the family came to celebrate and watch Joe Joe get his wish, which is to go to Disney World. They helped him decide on that wish because he loves Spiderman and Buzz Lightyear and a lot of the action characters. His first wish was to go to McDonalds, they did tell him that he could also go to McDonalds while he was in Florida!

They do give him a star. His has a blue center. Below is a picture of him holding his star.

Then they tie the star with a string and Joe Joe got to pull the string to raise his star to the heavens.
Here is the star reaching it's destination - with the other stars that have come before this one.

While the star was raising they played that "When you wish upon a star" song. It was very emotional and all the grandmothers (at least) cried. It was very touching. They leave next week to go to Disney World for a week. He will get to go to all the different attractions there. He gets breakfast with the characters twice and even with some of the Marvel characters at least one morning! It is going to be so much fun!
